The Coconut Revolution installation mimicks the organic form of the coconut using western ceramic techniques and materials as a metaphor to symbolise the irreversible transformation of industrialisation within the Pacific region. The stoneware and porcelain firing of these forms irreversibly ‘fixes’ the complex race-relations made apparent by Western economic interests.
